Junior and youth players
More About Me
My coaching experience is predominantly with junior and youth players. I spent the past three years coaching with the Northern Suburbs Football Association, helping develop representative players. I am a FFA/AFC Youth 'C' Licensed coach, I have a Coerver coaching diploma, and West Ham United coaching diploma. My ambitions are to continually evolve as a development coach, and developing great players is my biggest goal. I am currently Director of justfootball academy, where we are focused on the development of individuals. Here we coach players of all levels, working on technique, game tactics for individuals and personal development. Coaching is conducted in small groups, no bigger than eight players.
I played representative football for the Northern Suburbs Football Association as a junior, known as the Northern Tigers today. I was allowed to play football every second year when I was young so I had no fortune in progressing. I played all my adult football in the Premier League in the Northern Suburbs Association.
The sessions are different depending on age, all players will train in small groups though. The session objectives are always technique related, 1v1's are compulsory and with numbers 4+, small tactical games are run. A technical component is also conducted, with the aim to achieve maximum repetition and ball touches. The session exercises are all designed to achieve the objective of the session, with defender orientation being specified. For example, we will run a session to develop receiving with a defender in the back, or dribbling with a defender from the side etc. Every component is relevant to the objective of the session, and the players are then challenged to execute in game scenarios. S&C, coordination and cognitive exercises are also conducted depending on age.
