More About Me
Michael started out his coaching career at 15 years of age coaching two of his younger brothers team’s: under 11s 5-a-side team and also a 7-a-side team at Bullen artificial pitch and Darebin International Sport Centre respectively.
After finishing his playing career in Italy and completing his VCE Michael decided to further pursue his coaching career and obtained his junior coaching licence through FFV.
With a fountain of experience, fresh and abundant from his playing career in Italy, Michael decided to pick up a coaching role at an under 12’s team at Yarra Jets and in correlation, coached under 5’s at Soccer Time Kids.
Michael was requested by Steve Mautone after an under 5’s training session to coach the under 7’s NPL team at Port Melbourne Soccer club. Steven and his partner were impressed by the relationship and attitude in which Michael connected with the players.
Michael also coached the under 13’s at Yarra Jets following great relationship with the club, players and parents the previous year.
Michael was invited to join Little Star Soccer which is a program aimed at the development of soccer skills for kids under the age of 5 years.
Following Michael’s successful coaching at Under 7’s at Port Melbourne he was invited to coach the Melbourne Victory Masterclass Clinic as a head coach overseeing the juniors during the clinic in early 2015
As Michael previously used to coach with Damien Cardamone, he was requested to join Soccer Active in early April 2014 and since has been offered a head coach role in the academy.
In early 2015 Michael was asked to coach several teams as a skill and technical development coach for the juniors (under 9, 11 and 12 boys and girls) at Yarra Jets FC primary enhancing skill development and technical first touch and control to the players.
Michael was invited by Yarra Jets in the 2015 season to coach the miniRoos ages 4-9.
At the start of the 2016 season Michael was appointed by Kevin Thomas, as the coach of the under 14’s boys squad at Brunswick Zebras.
Michael continued as a head coach under Damien Cardamone at Soccer Active Academy and in early 2017 took a 2 year break from coaching to focus on his Osteopathic studies.
Michael returned to soccer coaching in 2019 at Northcote city for the under 9’s squad, where he is currently coaching. Northcote city provided Michael with a youth C-licence accreditation.
Coupled with under 9 coaching Michael provides 1 on 1 private coaching, he analyses matches and formations to critique his students performances.
As a player Michael has had 14 years of playing experience, playing for 9 different teams since the age of 11 in teams such as

At one stage Michael playing an astonishing 5 teams a week and training every other day.
At the age of 16 Michael trialled for “Genova International school of Soccer” to play overseas in Northern Italy playing against teams all over the northern region such as Inter Milan Primavera, Bassano V, Treviso, Vicenza Calcio, Como, Messina and Chievo Verona.
Michael was coached by world class famous coaches such as Morris Pagniello and AFC Ajax appointed staff.
During him time in Italy Michael reached the peak of his playing career and trained with primavera teams such as Vicenza Calcio (Serie B), Treviso (Serie Ci) and Bassano (Serie Cii).
Michael decided to return to Australia and continue his final year of VCE and possibly after finishing his VCE return to Italy to continue his playing career.
Michael successfully got into his dream course after VCE who is currently studying to become a doctor of Osteopathy and choose not to return to pursue his playing career in Italy the following year.
In the following year Michael decided to leave his goalkeeping skill set in the past and focus on developing himself in other areas of the field. Michael won the golden boot with his school team and finished top scorer in 2012.
Between 2012 and 2015 Michael’s focus was futsal and developing himself in every area of the field, he joined multiple teams and learned in every position.
In 2015 Michael decided to play for a Sunday league team as his commitments with the Soccer Active academy clashed with his Saturday morning and training nights. Michael played a successful season for Thornbury United as a Central Midfielder.
In 2016, Michael moved across to Brunswick Zebras playing as the captain in a central attacking midfielder role.
Later in 2016, Michael was appointed as Captain of the University team: RMIT Redbacks. Michael traveled interstate with the RMIT Redbacks to compete in Perth University games playing against university teams all around Australia.
He decided to take a break from playing to focus on his Osteopathy studies and joined 2 indoor soccer/futsal teams: Action indoor sports: Doncaster and Thomastown Futsol Oz until late 2018.
I only coach players under 15 years old.
Match performance and analysis is required before training can start.
Preferably I would attend your child's game and analyse strengths and weaknesses.
From there I can develop a specified coaching and training plan.
