More About Me
I have 7 years of coaching experience and have been coaching since the age of 13 for my domestic basketball club where I am currently head coach of three junior teams (2x under 12s teams and 1x under 16s team). Two years ago I became employed by my first coaching company where I help run primary and secondary school competition teams around Melbourne, and occasionally run school basketball clinics. As of now, I am in charge of one year 4 girls competition team as part of Playball Basketball where we are looking at winning our second premiership this year.
I have been playing basketball since the age of 5. At the age of 13, I was awarded my first captaincy at domestic level where I worked closely with my coach to help lead our team to a premiership. As part of my club, I was lucky enough to receive numerous playing awards such as the coaches award. After being accepted into SEDA College as part of my Year 11/12 study, I was lucky enough to get selected to play representative basketball for our college in the Victorian College Championships where we placed second in the state. Recently as part of my domestic club awards, I received a Life Membership.
As part of a first Coachable session, we will run drills based on the essential skills used in basketball (shooting, ball handling, defense, passing, rebounding etc) which will help me identify the strengths and weaknesses of an athlete. Once the weaknesses are identified, sessions will be based around improving those aspects of an athlete's game so they become better skilled, and more confident in their ability while also having fun doing it.
